{Making Words}

We had a competition this week using the letters from Happy Halloween. The students tried to come up with as many words as they could in 10 minutes. Kali won with over 30 words! Great job!

{Witch's Hats, Yum}

A quick Halloween treat, that can be made in seconds- All you need is a chocolate covered cookie, any kind is fine, preferably circle shape. Some frosting and chocolate kisses. They were made and devoured within a minute! And quick clean up!

{A Halloween Trick}

On Thursday I gave each student a piece of white paper with a trunk on it. I asked the students to draw a "Fall Tree" on the paper. I told them that on Friday we would use watercolors to paint the paper black, so it would be a fall tree at night. The students did a great job drawing their trees.

When the students left school, I used a white crayon to draw a ghost and write BOO on each child's paper.

The next day when they started painting, they were all in for a great surprise! The reactions were so funny.

The After:

{Bone Test}

We have been learning about and studying the different bones in our bodies. This week we tested the knowledge of the bones. Those students who got a 100% received their very own skeleton. Congratulations to those students. Keep studying if you didn't get 100%, and we will retest soon.

{Time}

This week we did a review over telling time. We have been working on time to the hour, quarter hour, half hour, and to the minute. If you have a non- digital clock in your home, test your child on their time knowledge. We reviewed over what we had learned with a Time game, I have ___ Who Has ___. One child starts with a clock and reads the time, and at the bottom of the card it asks for the next time. The kids loved looking through their cards, hoping they could get rid of all of theirs first.

Q-Tip Skeletons

Connecting both our Bone Unit in health and Halloween, for fun Friday last week we made skeletons out of q-tips. They are proudly hanging out in the hallway for the school to see. The kids did a great job of creativly putting and gluing their skeletons together. Enjoy!
